How I got started.......


HOW I GOT STARTED.........

I was admiring arrangements at a reception party for a friend. I decided to ask the hotel staff what actually happens to the flowers. Do they move them to the lobby for the enjoyment of the guests? I was told "oh no, we don't keep them." So an idea was born; why not ask to take the flowers back to my shop, redesign them & give them back to the community. Why not? Who wouldn't like fresh flowers especially in a nursing home dining room or a local school lobby. That's how "Vermont recycles Flowers "got started. With the generosity of flower donations and a little talent from Chappell's Florist designers and local volunteers, we are sharing flowers, still full of life, with members of our community who will really enjoy them. recycleflowers@yahoo.com

SCHOOLS ENJOY FLOWERS-CHAPPELLS FLORIST new "Vermont recycles Flowers" program delivers for opening of school year.

Chappell's florists volunteer their time to create floral beauties this week from flowers recycled from weddings this past weekend. Throughout the week we will be delivering to all the local schools to herald in the new school year. We have lots of gorgeous flowers, and we love redesigning new vases full of flowers for their "second life". Thanks to the brides and their venues for donating! Chappell's flower shop.

Chappells florists designed beautiful bouquets today with yellow iris, green spider mums, purple delphinium yellow roses, orange freesia, and pink roses to celebrate Birthdays at local nursing homes today. We love giving our recycled flowers to residents to celebrate their Birthday; we have received gorgeous flowers for events over the weekend.

BIRTHDAY FLOWERS Burlington Vt. CHAPPELLS FLORIST DELIVERS TO 100 years "young" Birthday girl at Shelburne Bay Senior living Shelburne, vt. 05482

Chappells florist delivers pretty Birthday bouquets everyday throughout the Burlington area, and recently we dropped in to Shelburne Bay senior living looking for a "Birthday girl or boy" to  Surprise with flowers from our "Vermont recycles flowers" program. Joan, our flower ambassador, asked at the front desk if anyone in the dining room was having a birthday today, and had not received any flowers to celebrate. "Yes we have a 100 year old Birthday girl today who never gets flowers or any visitors either." So Joan presented her with a pretty bright Birthday bouquet and got a huge smile in return. Joan then asked her secret to living 'til 100 years young, and she said to Joan, "Just be happy". We all loved that!

WEDDING ARTISTRY "GREEN FLORIST" CHAPPELLS Burlington Vermont designs destination wedding and RECYCLES FLOWERS TO CHEER ALLENWOOD RESIDENTS

Rave reviews from the bride, Mothers, and attendants for the spectacular bouquets designed by Diane, floral artist @ chappell's. The destination Vermont wedding featured sunflowers, chartreuse hydrangeas, purple lisianthus, cobalt delphinium, calla lilies, and sensational "Stella" garden roses. Maple sugaring buckets flowed with garden beauties, curly willow wedding arch with sweeping forest greenery, the red barn countrified with sweet hydranga wreaths, and the horse & carriage draped with summer blooms.....heavenly day. After the ceremony, the bride donated the flowers to chappell's for "rebirth" and recycling - the flowers were arranged in vases and brought to Allenwood senior living, S. Burlington, Fletcher allen Hospital ICU waiting rooms, Burlington  vt. and the Arbors senior memory care in Shelburne, vt. where the flowers bring joy to those living there. Thank you to the bride and her family for the donation.

"GREEN " florist Review CHAPPELLS FLORIST & Vermont recycles Flowers featured at ECHO CENTER wedding evening Bridal show

Chappells and "Vermont recycles Flowers" are featured at tonight's 2012 Bridal show at the Echo center in Burlington, vt. 05401.  "Brides to be" will have the chance to "catch the bouquet" designed by Chappells floral artists when "tossed" over the railing to all below. Vermont recycles flowers has donated 150 stems of  Iris to be handed out to all who attend. Bouquets of summer flowers including yarrow, caspia, iris, stargazer lilies, and garden greenery are in attendance too for everyone's enjoyment.....don't the flowers "make" the wedding?........
