How I got started.......

HOW I GOT STARTED.........

I was admiring arrangements at a reception party for a friend. I decided to ask the hotel staff what actually happens to the flowers. Do they move them to the lobby for the enjoyment of the guests? I was told "oh no, we don't keep them." So an idea was born; why not ask to take the flowers back to my shop, redesign them & give them back to the community. Why not? Who wouldn't like fresh flowers especially in a nursing home dining room or a local school lobby. That's how "Vermont recycles Flowers "got started. With the generosity of flower donations and a little talent from Chappell's Florist designers and local volunteers, we are sharing flowers, still full of life, with members of our community who will really enjoy them. recycleflowers@yahoo.com

Best Burlington florist idea - recycle vases back into the community

We are grateful in this time of Thanksgiving for all the donations of vases and baskets for our Vermont recycle flowers program. I love to see all the happy faces of folks bringing in boxes of vases, or even just one vase from their home for donation. So far, we have always received enough  vases for our bouquets. Thank you to the local community!

Shelburne Farms wedding flowers Chappells florist Vermont recycles in Burlington

I are pleased to share that Erin, event coordinator at Shelburne Farms Shelburne vermont has asked us to recycle wedding flowers after the events. Previously the flowers were composted, but we both felt a much better choice was to redesign and deliver to nursing homes and non profit organizations in the local area. This week fresh and gorgeous creamy white hydrangeas, stock, roses, and other garden favorites are now in homes and businesses for all to enjoy. Thank you to our recycle flower volunteers who redesign and deliver! Thank you also to the local community who generously donate vases to the program.
