How I got started.......

HOW I GOT STARTED.........

I was admiring arrangements at a reception party for a friend. I decided to ask the hotel staff what actually happens to the flowers. Do they move them to the lobby for the enjoyment of the guests? I was told "oh no, we don't keep them." So an idea was born; why not ask to take the flowers back to my shop, redesign them & give them back to the community. Why not? Who wouldn't like fresh flowers especially in a nursing home dining room or a local school lobby. That's how "Vermont recycles Flowers "got started. With the generosity of flower donations and a little talent from Chappell's Florist designers and local volunteers, we are sharing flowers, still full of life, with members of our community who will really enjoy them. recycleflowers@yahoo.com

Best Burlington florist idea - recycle vases back into the community

We are grateful in this time of Thanksgiving for all the donations of vases and baskets for our Vermont recycle flowers program. I love to see all the happy faces of folks bringing in boxes of vases, or even just one vase from their home for donation. So far, we have always received enough  vases for our bouquets. Thank you to the local community!

Fletcher Allen hospital Burlington Vt-flowers from Vermont recycles Flowers

This week we sent 12 bouquets to the FAHC Fletcher Allen Hospital from the recycled flowers donated to us. Thank you to our volunteers who give their time and expertise to design and deliver to local nursing homes and the hospitals. I believe the flowers are well loved at the nurses stations and reception desks.

Shelburne Farms hosts Refugee Relocation night - Chappells gives recycled flowers

Chappell's florist and Vermont recycles Flowers donated flowers for the dinner celebration. Many table bouquets and 2 presentation bouquets were designed with the donated flowers. We had lots of flowers this week to donate for the enjoyment of many!
